I don’t have a lot of Yoga mats to compare it to - being relatively new to Yoga myself. But it’s much thicker than my old mat, which makes many of the poses more comfortable. I’m kinda a big guy too - so it’s nice to not be falling off the edge of the mat all the time.
It’s greatly alleviated some of the discomfort in my palms and other areas that I used to have after finishing a routine.
I’d give it 4.5 stars if that were an option - my only complaints are:
It’s difficult to roll and store - wish it came something to wrap it up once rolled.
It stinks to high heavens when you first get it - but that fades over time.
Sadly - even being as thick as they come, I still wish it just a wee bit thicker. Some poses (side plank, et al) are still on the uncomfortable side.
Overall it was a great choice I think. Especially for a <$30 mat.

I really appreciate this extra wide mat. It has just the right “stickiness” to help me hold my yoga poses. It is not very thick, so don’t buy it if you’re looking for cushion.

In my opinion its still not thick enough. I use it to do sit up’s on, so I just fold it in half. I guess it would be fine for yoga, but doing sit ups on a ab roller type machine without it folded in once still hurts my lower back.

I purchased this mat because the other ones that are “standard” don’t work as they are too narrow for me to stay on! I’ve tried to work it out so that my feet are just on the edges of the smaller mat when doing my yoga, but I concentrated on that so much, I was losing out on my “peace and quiet time.”
This is a great mat, even though it comes in two colors (I purchased the blue) it is well worth the money! I don’t have to worry that I might fall off the mat and I can concentrate on my yoga. AND it isn’t too big as I first thought it might be for my living room. It works great and it rolls up nicely to put under your bed, in a closet or just in the corner of a room! I would highly recomend this mat to anyone, and I let all my girlfriends know where I got it when they ask (and they do).

I really like this matt. It’s cushy and wide. I may not know alot about yoga (since I am just learning) but I do know that it’s more comfortable than anything else I’ve tried. Thanks
